An epoxy floor is a two-part resin poured over a prepared concrete slab. It cures into a seamless, sealed surface with no grout lines, easy to clean and resistant to stains. The system decides the look and the price: solid color runs about $5 to $8 per square foot installed, flake $6 to $10, metallic $8 to $15, and quartz $9 to $14. These are estimates; the final price requires an on-site evaluation. Every system starts the same way: we diamond-grind the slab to open its pores, repair cracks and pits, and test the concrete for moisture before any product is mixed, because a coating that is not bonded to open concrete eventually peels. With proper care, a well-installed floor lasts about 10 to 15 years, depending on use, traffic, sun, moisture, the condition of the slab and maintenance.
Epoxy works wherever you want a floor that is sealed, seamless and easy to keep clean: garages, kitchens and utility rooms, showrooms and offices, gyms, warehouses and production areas. It is also a way to give an old slab a finished look without tearing anything out.
It is not the right answer for every floor. A slab with a moisture problem that is not addressed, or an exterior surface in full sun without a UV-stable topcoat, will not hold a standard epoxy for long. That is part of what we check before we quote.
A single-color resin floor with a clean, even finish. It is the simplest system and the lowest price range, about $5 to $8 per square foot installed, estimated. It is common in corridors, offices, showrooms, utility rooms and back-of-house areas, where the point is a floor that is sealed and easy to clean rather than decorative.

Most epoxy floors finish with a clear protective topcoat. On surfaces that get sun, such as garages with the door open, patios or rooms with large windows, a UV-stable urethane topcoat helps keep the color from ambering over time and adds abrasion resistance. Which topcoat goes on your floor depends on the system and where it is.
The difference between a floor that lasts and one that peels in two years is almost never the resin. It is the slab underneath. We diamond-grind the concrete with dust extraction until the pore is open, repair cracks, pits and joints, and test for moisture before a single bucket is opened. If the slab needs a moisture-mitigating primer or a different system, we say so before we quote.

Vinyl flakes broadcast into the wet resin, then sealed. Hides dust and tire marks better than any solid color — the usual pick for garages. A heavier broadcast gives a full, granite-like texture with more grip, which is what holds up around pools and service areas.
Metallic pigments moved through the resin while it cures, so every floor comes out with its own veining. No two are the same — this is the one people ask us for by name.
Mechanically refining the slab you already have through progressive diamond grits. No coating on top — the finish is the concrete itself.
About 10 to 15 years for a well-installed system with proper care and maintenance. The real number depends on use, traffic, sun exposure, moisture, the condition of the concrete and maintenance.
You can walk on it the next day. Vehicles usually go back in after 48 to 72 hours, depending on the system, product, temperature and humidity.
Over an old coating, we grind it off first rather than going over it. Over tile it depends on the tile and how well it is bonded; we look at it on site before recommending anything.
