Most floors we install run $5 to $12 per square foot installed, depending on the system. Fort Lauderdale has an older housing stock than the western suburbs, and that changes the job in two ways. First, a lot of these homes already have terrazzo under the carpet or tile — original mid-century terrazzo that is worth restoring rather than covering, and grinding it back is usually cheaper than putting a new floor over it. Second, the closer you get to the Intracoastal, the more moisture the slab holds. We test before we choose, because a sealed system over a wet coastal slab is the single most common reason a floor fails here.
Restoration first where there is terrazzo or sound concrete underneath, coatings where there is not. The oldest houses in Broward are here, and the floor under the tile is often better than the tile.

Vinyl flakes broadcast into the wet resin, then sealed. Hides dust and tire marks better than any solid color — the usual pick for garages. A heavier broadcast gives a full, granite-like texture with more grip, which is what holds up around pools and service areas.

Almost always yes. Original terrazzo is a genuinely valuable floor and restoring it — grinding, filling and polishing — usually costs less than installing anything new on top. Send photos of the worst section and we will tell you honestly whether it can come back.
